Pierre is the Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care and Neonatal Medicine at the Paris South University Hospitals in Paris, France, and Professor of Pediatrics at the Paris South University School of Medicine.

Board certified in Pediatrics and in Intensive Care Medicine (Switzerland), he holds a PhD degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Geneva and a University Ability in Immunology from the University René Descartes – Paris 5.

Pierre is directing a research group at the Institute of Integrative Biology of the Cell, Paris Saclay University, working on innate immune genes regulation during sepsis and has published more than 50 related articles. His special clinical interests focus on sepsis and immune response in critically ill children and newborn. He is member of the SSC Steering Committee.
